With this boy today. His name is Dandy and he is such a sweetheart. He has recently come back from a home trial which sadly did not work out
He is great with people and other dogs and if I only had one dog he would def be a serious contender for a spot on my settee spinner smile

He loves his sticks

He has big ambitions on the stick front!

Yes I believe so but I have never let any of them off lead. He was itching to get into the river when I walked him through the reserve and he had a play with a young husky and was so excited, I really felt sorry for him as he was dying to get off for a run with the other dog.

I wish I could have taken him out for longer today but the weather was terrible and I had an appt at the opticians. I am sure he wont be short of volunteers to take him out although I think everyone stayed at home this morning.

If Ian was up to coming I would take him out for the morning with Reuben but Ian still wont get involved so we will have to stick to the reserve when I manage to get up there

handsome boy jo , but sadley this is the reason i cant go to help at a Rescue place , id be gutted to have to leave a friendly stafford there or any dog come to think of it , it would play on my mind sooo much it would get me down

infact i went to manchester dogs home a few months before we spotted alfie without Sonya knowing , there was a short brindle staffie call sasha , real small girl ,petite but perfect just iike loomis is ,just how i like girl staffies , i kept looking at her thinking what should i do , i cant forget those eyes looking at me , just hoping id take her ,

now as sad as this sounds but i really dont like staffords without either a big blaze on their chest or loads of white to break the colour up & knew in the back of my head i really wanted a red/white pied

anyway i came home thinking about her and told son she said get her so i rang the center and she had just been picked out by someone as we spoke ,, gutted wasnt the word ....i still picture her little face now , no barking just big brown eyes

Awww, the main thing is though that she got a home and you now have the gorgeous Alfie - some things are meant to be.

I know I cant have any more dogs, two is enough so although I really like this dog I help out knowing it is the next best thing to giving him a home.

He had some fun and some cuddles and treats yesterday, even if it was for only a short time

He's lovely love

It's very hard when you get taken with a rescue. We're at our limit we both know it but then you see one that just gets to you and you do wonder ..could we squeeze one more in. : (

To be honest I dont know if I will have two again

At times we have found a huge difference having 3 dogs.

I wouldn't ever change the way things are now but I would think very carefully about having a multi dog household in the future.

I'm hoping that we will be considerably older next time we look to home a dog - so we will probably looking for one as mature as us lol!

We have come close to having 3...only trouble is when Cass comes Jo stay that means 4!
It's not something we have ruled out but it has to be the right dog for the right reasons.

I'm dog sitting Glynn's daughter's dog in a couple of weeks and just know it will be hard work having three so I'm taking the week off work. Would like a week at home anyway pottering and will be able to walk them when I want not when dictated to by work. Am looking forward to it in a way as little Pepper is only six months old and a miniature Schnauser spinner smile

I was surprised by how it affected the simple things like opening gates and getting in and out of the car with them. It's all like second nature now but it took a while to get organised.

Training was actually harder with the third dog too, but I think that might have been an age issue - the girls were both very young at the same time.

Getting holiday places with 3 is nigh on impossible too.

But then we also get the sheer pleasure of having 3 great dogs in our lives. This outweighs everything else

spinner smile

I was suprised by how many holiday lets will take 3 to be honest, if we'd had a wider choice of area it wouldn't have been a problem at all.

So if you are looking for a holiday let I'd suggest Sykes Holidays, they were really helpful.
