How are everyones dogs coping with our mini heatwave? Are you managing to walk them or are you leaving them until the heat subsides?

I am taking Reubs out about 5.45 and then leaving it until after tea as it is just too warm for him. Also taking plenty of water even though we are only doing small walks

I've been taking them out before it gets hot in the morning and then waiting until about 7.30 at night. The fields on the playing field have been providing a lot of shade but they are still tired out after ten minutes running about. Trouble is they come home, sleep on the cool kitchen floor and then want to play again.

I've had the paddling pool out most of the weekend so have kept them cool that way, think the poor paddling pool has too many claw holes now though spinner smile

I walk the boys around 5am and then again after tea when it's cool - butthey don't go far as they are panting after 10mins xx

Please remind your family and friends to spread the word that Bull Breeds and Boxer don't cope well in heat and apply suncream / sun block to white doggies

We get the sunbeds out for anything over 16 degrees over here -have to be grateful for what we get ROFL ROFL

Dog walking: Only when it cools down - have to watch Amy she burns. She has to have factor 50 baby sun tan lotion on her nose, face, head and ears.

Mine haven't been getting walked during the day - only at night and mainly somewhere with access to water.

Theyve been out in the garden playing during the day and Ive been using their coolcoats to keep them cool.
