PostSubject: Weeing when excited   Mon 09 Jul 2012, 8:41 pm

When I get home from work Enzo is very excited as usual but keeps letting a bit off wee out! It only happens at this time of day not when I come home at lunch time, only after work. I think this is because this is when I feed him so it adds to the excitement.

Today I ignored him , didn't even look at him, I popped to the loo and came out, he seemed to have calmed down so I stroked him and he wee'd!

Im not sure how I go about changing the time I feed him, I've tried this before but he whines because he expects it, I've always fed him at the same time.

Has he only started to do this since you got your flat, or has he always done this?

That's ok.
He sometimes does it when he gets fuss from someone new, usually when we're out on a walk. So its definitely an excitement thing.

I would probably ring your vet just for their general advice - Its not uncommon and when a doggie has been neutered it does tend to happen more often xx

I will ask around at work today and see if anyone has any suggestions x

Its generally more common in females as been neutuered can cause then to wee when excited - but some bitches and males do this even when they aren't.

I would just ring your vet and pick their brains at least you will have a little piece of mind - try not to worry as it is a very common problem x

Nothing to worry about, Kassi does this when she meets new people and they make a fuss, only she is upside down and the time and squirts the newbie - very funny but embarassing point

Yes its very embarrassing when he does it to a stranger lol but its there fault for getting him so excited!

I tried again tonight ignoring him until he calmed down but as soon as I touch him he wee's a tiny bit. So guess I can't touch him! Lol

Hmm the worst one was when we had to go and collect our award for Best in Show a few years ago and we had to walk all round the field to get to our presentation. All was well until on the way back a guy came out of the crowd and said "ooooh I love Staffies", got her so excited, she threw herself on the floor upside down and peed vertically into his face as he knelt down - he was so shocked and kind of not amused but his children thought it was hysterical and nearly wet themselves laughing. I was like, no not my dog, just borrowed her for the day lol
