Imogen is a delightful, sociable 10 year old Staffy girl who came into our care after sadly finding herself in a stray pound. Imogen was due to be put to sleep as soon as her statutory 7 days were up as she had a large tumour on her side. Luckily for Imogen, a very kind associate of the Oldies Club knew of her plight and paid for the tumour to be removed and asked whether we could take Imogen into our care. Imogen’s luck had changed! The tumour proved to be benign and Imogen is now in an Oldies Club foster home in Watford, Hertfordshire.
All Imogen wants in life is someone to love her. She’d like a fairly quiet home where she can settle into a steady routine and feel secure after all she has been through. She is such a friendly girl that she would be happy to live with dogs, cats, and children of 7 years old plus. In fact, she would probably be happiest in a home where she has another dog or a cat for company.

Imogen loves other dogs and cats. She was previously living with 2 dogs and 2 cats and enjoyed playing together, with no problems at food or treat time. One of the cats really liked Imogen and rubbed against her. Imogen might chase in a playful way if the cats run, but she doesn’t want to harm them. She backs off if the cats tell her off. What a sweet girl!

Imogen likes children. She seems fine with children of all ages, but, as she has not perfect eyesight and hearing, she can be startled easily. So, sensible older children of 7 years plus would probably be better suited.
Imogen enjoys walks and car travel. Imogen loves to go for a walk and does not pull - in fact, she walks perfectly to heel. She’s fine off the lead too as long as she doesn’t wander too far away due to her hearing not being what it was. She doesn’t need a long walk - half an hour is sufficient. She travels very well in the car, simply settling down and going to sleep. You don’t know she’s there!
Probably due to the upheaval of being in the pound and then moving to foster care, and probably for other reasons that we can only imagine, Imogen takes a little while to settle and feel secure. Her new owners will therefore need to be happy to give Imogen time and space to settle into her new life. Those special new owners will be rewarded with a sweet, friendly and affectionate companion.

Imogen does not go upstairs and sleeps soundly throughout the night downstairs. She is fine to be left alone for a couple of hours during the day, but sometimes whimpers if she can’t find you in the house. However, if she has had a walk, she will sleep for a few hours and doesn’t even notice! It is so sad to think that what she has been through might still be affecting her.
Her foster carer tells us more about her:
Imogen loves to be fussed. She would like to sit next to you all day having cuddles! Imogen likes food and treats and is currently a little overweight, so it’s a strict diet for her at the moment. Imogen is a very dear little dog with lots of love and affection to give. She makes the perfect companion dog, loving to be close to people. She is totally clean in the house, doesn’t bark or cause any damage. She’s very sweet tempered and has never been heard to growl.
Imogen has had a thorough health check at the vets and is in general good health and taking no medication. She had the benign tumour removed, has had a dental and some teeth removed, been vaccinated and microchipped and flea/worm treated. It’s believed she has been spayed but the vet could not confirm this. If this is not the case, then the Oldies Club would pay for the cost of this treatment. She has cataracts but can certainly spot squirrels at the bottom of the garden! She also is hard of hearing though can hear loud voices or noises.
Do you want to be the happy ending to Imogen’s sad tale?
