PostSubject: Paws yet again!!   Mon 06 Aug 2012, 10:16 pm

Yet again Ruby has managed to take the top layers of skin off her one front paw pad and on both paws on other pads! How she manages it I don't know. She is limping around like she's been in 10 rounds with a boxer! ( haha get it!) I've bathed them and will do it again in the morning but she does seem to look a bit sorry for herself.
It seems such a common problem with most peoples dogs on here, I've been looking for the thread about paw wax but can't seem to find it.

Does anyone have any experience with paw wax and is it effective?
I know for a fact ruby won't wear the socks that I've come across so the wax is the only option I can think of.
I've seen the Shaws paw wax but it seems a bit cheap for it to be effective but I may be wrong.

Any feedback would be great

ta

The more expensive wax is mushers. Havent tried it.

have used the shaws one and it seems ok, for a couple of pounds I would give it a try.

I use Mushers in winter to protect Reubs paws from the snow and ice and I also used it when we were doing flyball indoors due to the dust in the floor covering as he is allergic to dust mites
It is good stuff but have not used any other for comparison

May be worth trying the cheaper option first, the mushers takes a while to come unless you can now get it from a UK seller
