PostSubject: Not so Mr Perfect!   Wed 19 Sep 2012, 5:55 pm

He used to be such a good boy, but now....

He chewed up the toilet roll and shredded it (thinks he an andrex puppy)
Emptied the bin and chewed everything in it (but left the food bin luckily)

All this happened on separate days when I was at work in the afternoon.

He's obviously getting bored. I'm doing an extra hour overtime at work to earn some extra money and this seems to be too long for him.

I left him at 2pm with a frozen kong full of banana and a treat dispenser toy and the tv on. I walked him from 1 until about half past.

I've just bought a new nylabone for him and will give this to him when tomorrow.

Any other ideas?

Ive also just asked mum that she pops in to see him.

Poor Enzo, he used to be so well behaved! Even when he was a puppy he never did anything like this.

I've managed to move the bins into the cupboard out the way and will have to keep the bathroom door shut. But what will be next lol

I could up his exercise, but I'd have to get up a bit earlier and I'm not very good at that, neither is he lol. I have to wake him up before I go to work to get him out for a wee!!

Personally I would up the excercise and he will be too tired to go raiding bins etc.
Even a 20 min run in the morning would help and its not too much earlier

Yeah think that's the best idea.

It's always the afternoon that he's naughty, never the morning as I think he just sleeps until lunch time.

I can't be angry at him, it's not really his fault.

I've had to change walking routines for Ruby and Elsdon since Glynn went on nights, I now get up at 6am so we can have a really good walk, good heavens I'm moving into Suzie's time of day lol

Is it dark at that time in the morning?

I don't think Enzo would budge that early lol.

Yes it's fairly dark, that's why I want a good torch, I don't mind walking them when it's dark but as Ruby is so dark too I need to see where she is. Elsdon just lights up like a beacon anyway and I can hear him farting a mile away lol

Just a thought!

If you take him for a good run in a morning miss your dinner time visit home and see how he is just for one day
I know it may seem like a long time but perhaps the visit home is getting him excited and if it is a short visit he is still excited when you leave and then he starts being naughty?

Hi Sel

I think maybe Enzo is still adjusting to his new home and been alone if thats make sense - although you are doing a superb job for him - and how sweet are you leaving a radio on.

I can really only suggest upping the morning exercise - or maybe a few mornings drop him off at Hotel Mum & Dads lol or failing that either allow Enzo in one room only then gradually allow another room and so on xx

I know what you mean but that would mean leaving him from 8am until 5pm, I think that's too long really. But I see where your coming from and agree I think it wakes him up and then I leave him.

I walked him this morning at 7.30 and again at 1pm, it did tire him out, when i got home I knew he'd been asleep as the bed was warm. And nothing chewed up!

The nylabone I bought yesterday was too soft it was moderate chewer not tough so I couldn't leave him with it as he was biting chunks off it. But he had a frozen kong at least.

I went back to the pet shop and sort of complained so the man offered discount if I bought another one and gave me a massive raw hide bone for him free of charge.
Enzo loves it, but I know it will make him sick lol
