PostSubject: What do you think of this   Wed 17 Oct 2012, 10:10 am

TBH I think it's rubbish. I found this on FB by one of my friends, that they found. It's people saying that you shouldn't vaccinate your pet as it's killing them and making them ill. Sorry but I don't believe this and will always vaccinate bubbles and leo who will be 13 next year. Some people don't. That's fine. But why should someone come along and say by the way, your harming your pet by always vaccinating them. I think that's up to you to do. Not them. We have flue jabs. Is that harming us or going to kill us. No. i always have mine every years because of my job. What do you think on this.

Hi Net

Personally I would always vaccinate - as with human vaccinations there is always a small risk of complications - but I would never leave my pets unvaccinated - as with any jab they do place the virus so to speak into the body so the immune system can build a defence against them -

It's always going to raise a debate - and it's down to personal choice xx

It is personal choice. But I do hate it when people like to but in and tell you what you should be doing. It's like I got my dog done at 6 months old and my cat a year old. But that's my choice, no one else's.

I think its rubbish.

My dogs were vaccinated as pups and have been vaccinated every year since.

You would also more than likely invalidate your insurance if you decided not to have yearly boosters.

So I'm not the only one who thinks it's rubbish then. There's a lot of people on FB that thinks it's a great idea not to vaccinate their pets. That's worry's me now when out walking my dog. And also they won't have insurance as some won't insure your pet if you are not up to date with them to. So that worry's me again case their dog attacks mine and they haven't got any insurance for their dog to claim on.

I would like to on Leo as he's getting older now. But he still kills wild animals. So I might think about it on him.

I think I'll still carry on vaccinating for the time being, strangely enough it's time for Ruby's booster next week so I'm taking her at the same time as Elsdon sees Vet Bob for his post-post operation appointment.

I think I'll ask him if he's seen anything like this?

I know quite a few people who don't vaccinate, I always do. With our last old boy our vet did say it wasn't necessary when he was getting on a bit, so we left his last vaccination

It's just a matter of personal preference :)
