How do you balance work and social life with your dogs/pets?

Living on my own I rely on my parents a lot if I am going out in the evening. I'd love to get another dog but I know it would be difficult if I wanted to go out. Because Enzo is trained and house trained etc I know he will be no problem left with my parents but another dog wouldn't be fair on my parents.

Just wondering how everyone else copes? Especially singletons spinner smile

We cope OK, if we are going out together it tends to be weekends but our Son is usually around.
During the week one of us is always around at night time and during the day at weekend there is usually someone in

It would be a lot harder if I was on my own but I would take him more places with me as I would not want to leave him at night if he was home alone during the day

We cope fairly well with Glynn being on nights, I have to admit it's been pretty tough just recently with Elsdon being crocked as I've been taking him out separately from Ruby. I always take them out for a good long walk at night.

We always take them with us if we are going to the club, which is Friday, Saturday and Sunday teatime and if we go out at night I always make sure they have had a good walk beforehand.

They also go to the club with Glynn in a morning as it's his "evening" so he goes for a couple of pints before heading off to bed.

In fact now I'm reading this I realise they spend more time at the club than I do spinner smile

Quattro does quite well as we both work a four day week so he's only on his own for three days & I go home at lunch to walk him plus my mum stays for a bit longer to keep him company.

We don't go out often & if we do we try to take him with us.

Our family helps us when needed & stay when we go out or away. They all love their Quattro so are always pleased to help out :)

I tend to socialise during the weekends and then only leave the dogs one day. I don't go out at night if I have been working because I won't leave them.

People think I am mad but they soon get used to me. In the summer they come to the pub with me.

For instance in two weeks time we have a works Xmas do in the evening and I have the afternoon and next morning off.

Yes I know I am stupid and they would just sleep, but I can't relax thinking about it, so rather do it my way - doh!

Yeah I try to stick to going out at the weekends only. I'm more of a staying in person than going out so it's not too bad. I'd rather have a night in front of the tv cuddling Enz than going clubbing! Some people don't understand that though!

That's because they dont have a cuddly staffie. When ever we do go out (once in a blue moon) we want to leave early to go cuddle the pup spinner smile
