Those who came on the Delamere walk would have met Penny, a quality Staffie who is at our rescue and really shouldn't be!
I've finally got access to the new 'rescue centre blog' so I set about giving Penny a boost....

Kya who also came on the walk is on trial in a home! fingers crossed!!!

I love her she sounds just like Enzo being a lap dog, as I type he is on my lap!
I am so tempted to give her a home she's lovely. Unfortunately I live in a flat and work full time so it wouldn't be ideal.

well, Penny's back at the rescue after the trial failed, turns out she was a bit to interested in the Parrot! Deciding against actually trying to do something about it they brought her back.
The good news is; she was reserved again straight away and should be going home today!
fingers crossed....again.

What are some people like Adam , surely they would be aware it takes time for a dog to adjust to new surroundings banghead

Fingers crossed she gets a better chance to prove herself at the next home ,

Any news on Kya , how has she done ??

What a shame it took weeks for Reuben to learn to leave the parrot alone, he eventually learnt after a bite on the chin!
People who give up so easily don't deserve her, lets hope her next home is successful

Yes, shame I wasn't there to meet these folk.
Kya is doing well so far on her trial I believe, not sure if they have gone for the full adoption yet, I'll try to remember to ask!

She has been in a home for a good 6 weeks now, but I had to go and visit the lady after 10 days or so because she was having trouble handling Penny!
She was getting pulled all over the place, was avoiding other dogs, and Penny was getting excited when visitors knock, basically a lovely lady but an un-educated owner.
I showed her how to walk Penny properly, (loose lead, then just clipped to my belt), how to meet other dogs and how to get Penny calm around the door. Of course Penny was her awesome self the whole time, no trouble at all.

I wasn't convinced it was the right home for her, but I haven't heard anything since and she hasn't come back into the rescue so I'm guessing the owner has got the hang of things and Penny has a nice settled routine to relax into.

It's a shame because when we get a fancy breed into the rescue, we'll get several people wanting it so we can pick and choose most ideal homes, but with the poor staffies the rehomes don't get that luxury.

Well fingers crossed it works out better this time around , the reason I haves asked is last time we walked together I thought she,d be a great dog for sonyas mam who lost her 18 year old dog around 6 months ago , at that time she was still very upset about losing junior so we left it , but she feels its time to get another rescue ( Sonya got juniors mam out of Manchester dogs home but sadly died 6 years later after bad health , cracking Staffy x )

After talking with her sister & bro It turns out Janet would like a younger Staffy ideally a girl because of mixing with Alfie ;so just thought I'd ask as Sonya went on your site last night & clicked on the rescues
To see what was in ,
But the choice will be thiers so if you know of anything I might be able to show Sonya & take it from there
