PostSubject: Rocco & Diesel    Fri 01 Feb 2013, 3:31 pm

spinner smile Hi All

Just wanted to ask those of you who own 2 or more poochies if one behaves like Rocco and Diesel.

Diesel is a very chilled out boy who loves his cuddles but also loves his own space and will spend alot of times upstairs in his bed whilsrt Paul and I and Rocco sit downstairs. We call Diesel down but he always prefers to g oback upstairs instead of having a cuddle - I dont like his choice to be up there but he seems happy.

When Paul sometimes go to bed early - then Diesel always comes downstairs for a cuddle with me and Rocco - so why does he do this?

Also Rocco is very energetic and when Paul is not at home he will often fly down the stairs like a loonatic and jump on Diesel - or try to get Diesel to play and Diesel at times doesn't want to play - I correct Rocco and he stops - but sometimes Rocco gets that look in his eyes like he may become a little more than playful with Diesel.

Rocco never does this when Paul is home

My question is - am I not seen a pack leader and this is why Rocco will try and 'bully' Diesel for a better word?

I do tell Rocco off and he does stop it - but he never would attempt some of his antics when Pauls home - so why is this?

Any views please xx

I think I'll leave this up to Adam but I do find that Ruby and Elsdon play more when I'm at home on my own, whereas when Glynn is at home on his own they don't play half as much.

They also walk better on the lead for him. I have to be really firm with Elsdon sometimes before he will walk to heel. Ruby of course is an angel and does as she is asked every time.

I'll be interested in everyone's replies spinner smile

Chloe always preferred her own space and would often take herself off upstairs or to her bed, as she got older she spent more time upstairs and I would make her come downstairs to be with us at times.

Reuben does not do anything for Ian but Ian does not do anything with him very often. if I am out or working Reuben does not settle until I get in

When Ian is out I don't think Reuben even notices

When I walk Dell on my own he never leaves my side but when its Keith and me he does his ratching around.
Dell is very lazy in the house unless he's outside noseballing , but he comes alive when he's out walking , he lives to walk and ratch typical terrier.
I leave it to k999 to answer your question Suzie.
