In short Yvonne has found herself a one bedroom flat to move into soon so Jazz will be out of a home. I would have her but our tenancy agreement is only for two dogs.

William has said to have her PTS but we just can't even contemplate it.

I'm going to contact Barbara but my hopes aren't high. I'm going to ask The Cinnamon Trust if they can help but am not sure if they will be able to? Anyone know of someone who has contacted them?

Could you ask your landlord if they would allow you to have another?

She's eleven Jo, in good health except for a lump on one of her teats which she has had for several years. I had her health checked at the Vets at Christmas and they say she is in very good health. She is fine with other dogs, no agression at all just curiosity. She has stayed at my house several times and only snapped at Elsdon as he tried to eat her food. She's been fine with him since and is very respectful of us now. Unfortunately her vaccinations are out of date but that's a minor thing that can be solved.

She's a lovely dog and I really can't bear the thought of having to take her to be put to sleep. Do you know of someone?

I'd see if your landlord would accept another dog. Even if its just temporary until you/they can find a permanent home for her.

I hope it's a happy ending too..

Yes she is Allie, clean in the house, easy to walk, no pulling, good with other dogs, and such a sweet face.

PostSubject: Re: Jazz    Mon 15 Apr 2013, 8:29 pm

Update on Jazz, she's now with us permanently (not) and has settled in nicely. Ruby is showing a bit of jealousy but Glynn gave her a right telling off so she's been fine since.

I contacted Senior Staffy Club who have been extremely helpful, they've been and assessed her and she's passed with flying colours. They are also getting me a voucher from The Dogs Trust to get her spayed and I will pay for her vaccinations to be brought up to date. I'm just a bit worried about her being spayed at her age but I can pay extra to have her blood tested for the anaesthetic so I'll pay that too.

I need to get my backside into gear and take some good videos of her then it's all sorted. I just need a nice quiet home for her now but there seems to be a lot of elderly Staffies needing homes right now.

Any advice for me and her post op?

I think it is a bit risky personally and if she was mine I don't think I would put her through such an op at her age unless it was absoloutely necessary. Is this a requirement for rescue?

Yes they won't rehome her otherwise. I really don't want to do it but I have no choice if she is to find a new home through a Rescue x

Its a pity they insist on her being spayed at her age, however so long as she is not over weight in reasonable health and has the blood test for the anasthetic, you are doing everything you can to reduce the risk, pls keep us posted as to how she is doing xxxx

Today's update is she's had her first jab, second one in two week's time so I can then get her spayed. I will pay the extra £40 for her blood testing. She's 18.5kg which surprises me as I thought she was heavier than that, could do with losing another 2kg before her operation so lots of walks and a cut down on biscuits but not chicken carcasses and fish. We'll get there spinner smile
