PostSubject: Just a little hello :)   Sun 01 Sep 2013, 10:01 pm

[wow][rand]01.09.201321:58:37[/rand][/wow]Hi guys,
im sophie and have a 14 week old bundle of joy, Max a black and white staff, I've had dogs my whole life with my parents, always have been german shepherds so completely different lol and dont remember them being anywhere near like max lol. so due to the change of breed a feel a bit like a fish out of water.

Its quite a funny story really that i eneded up deciding to get a staff...basically i had several bad experiences off staffs when i was younger so i swore id never have one. me and my partner looked after a very close friends staff x for three months  as she was having housing issues and unfortuantely couldnt take her to where they were temporarily staying. anyway missy was an absolute pleasure to have and after loosing our son last year we decided that maybe getting a dog would aid the healing process as wev both wanted one since moving in together, up untill looking after missy wed had no idea what we wanted, all we knew was that our house was  deffinately not big enough for a german shepherd, so anyway after looking after missy, talkig to several friends who own staffies or staffie crosses and doing a hell of alot of research into the breed we decided to start our search for our very own staffie, and when we went to see the third litter we ended up with max, even though it can be stressful we also have plenty of fun, but it deffo hasnt been easy and sometimes is very hard...so any tips on training, good things to with him etc would be fantastic :)
much love,
sophie & Max

P.s He likes to use his cage as a climbing frame which can be a bit worrying as im sure one day hell be too heavy and fall through it :/

Hi,
Yes best of both worlds, we introduced max to my parents 4 yr old rescue gsd last weekend...she's supposed to be scared of other dogs (mynparents have found this since having her) so was a bit of a worry of how she'd be with max...luckily she was absolutely fantastic and they got on like a house on fire! And I couldbt believe the size difference when they were standing next to eachother (shes 65kg and a ball of fluff and hes 6kg lol) Hopefully the intro to my parents blind patterdale terrier goes aswell! X

I find dog games harnesses very good, they are fleece so dont rub on the skin and can be thrown in the washer when they get dirty

Here is a link http://dog-games-shop.co.uk/harnesses-fleece-lined
