PostSubject: Vets tomorrow   Mon 18 Nov 2013, 9:56 pm

Getting his annual booster done and also need his nose looked at as he keeps itching it. This morning he had scratched under his eye too.
I've been applying sudocrem but I'm not sure if it's helping.

Fingers crossed it doesn't cost a lot but just hope they can help.

Hope it goes well Sel, as for the scratch try putting Savlon on, its antiseptic and should ease it and I hope it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg to have the booster x

Someone on here said to use sudocrem instead of savlon, that's what I was using before.

I'll ask the vet what's best but I just hope they don't subscribe some expensive cream!

sudocrem is what my vets nurse recommended , so if its not clearing , asyou say he may need an antibiotic cream that probebly will cost the earth

My vets said savlon was too strong for dogs and recommended sudocrem. See what your vets suggests Sel

Enzo should be offered the new vaccine tomorrow, which means he will have to go back in a month for the second shot

No it's all covered in the booster cost, the reason for the second jab is that it is a new vaccine so I assume it works the same ways as when you start the vaccinations as a puppy

How did it go Sel? I'm curious about this new vaccine that comes in two parts, my vets never mentioned anything when I took Ruby last month.

We're back. He gave him eye drops and said to carry on with sudocrem on his nose. I asked if savlon was better but he said sudocrem acts better as a barrier.
He had his booster, just one jab, he doesn't have to go back. I said that I'd heard from a few people that they have to go back a month later but he said that's only when the last booster they had was over 12 months ago.

Hi Sel, the additional jab was due to a new strain of leptospirosis

They said he needs to lose a tiny bit of weight too, he weighs 18kg and he would like him to be 17kg.

Another thing he said was that Enzo's gums are receding so he's prone to gum disease and recommended I cleaned them.

On right, did you think he was over weight? I know there are guidelines on weight but each dog differs. Can you feel his ribs if you run your hands over his side?

I think he's fine. I think he used to be more toned but I wouldn't say he's any fatter.

He looks fine to me Sel, I wouldn't worry too much about his size. Like Jo was they all differ :) x
