PostSubject: Enzo scared   Sat 04 Oct 2014, 8:46 am

Enzo doesn't like any kind of shouting, anger or raised voices, if someone is having an argument he'll walk out the room.
When we see my niece and have all the family around, he is quite scared when anyone tells off the children. My one niece is quite naughty so is always being told no don't do that don't touch that etc and Enzo will literally run and jump onto my lap because he thinks they telling him off.
My question Is what should I do. Giving him affection when he's scared is wrong isn't it?

Awww honey my boys are the same. If my neighbours argue they are petrified and come for cuddles, I suppose you shouldn't comfort them but I find it hard not too especially as they run shaking yo me :(

Even if OH is watching rugby and raises his house at the TV they dont like it xx

Yeah anything like that he hates, even if I tut not at him just something I'm doing around the house he doesn't like it lol
It is difficult not to say it's ok and give cuddles so I just wondered what I should do

Its a hard one Kassi is like it with some TV adverts that are loud especially the "have you had an accident" and they set a firework noise off in the background, she even bolts when she hears his silly voice now.

If I drop something in the kitchen and say grr or something else lol she bolts too.

I just let her go off and come back when it has all calmed down as I don't think she believes me when I tell her it is ok, because she won't come out of hiding (normally in the bathroom).

Oh the joy of firework night will soon be upon us!

I think maybe just let Enzo sit with you if needed, if he feels your calm energy he will realise there's no need to be scared. Our body language says more than words :) xx

Cody is exactly the same. He goes off and lays down in the bathroom. Even though we've moved house, he still chooses the bathroom as his safe place. No idea why.

I forgot about fireworks season. Oh dear. Our poor dogs.

They are sensitive souls aren't they.

I've read that apparently they go in the bathroom because the pipes take away the vibration of loud noises
