Snails have appeared in my fish tank!

Google tells me they aren't all that bad as long as they don't take over as they reproduce very quickly! Eek!

Have you bought any live plants? They tend to come in on plants
They will multiply quickly if you over feed your fish so keep an eye on how much waste food gets left (if any). If you get an outbreak buy an assassin snail and it will eat them, you just have to pick the empty shells out.

Don't get tempted with chemicals that kill he snails otherwise you end up with dead decaying snails turning your tank water. Do you still have your shrimp?

Yeah they appeared since the plants I bought.
As long as they aren't dangerous to the fish I don't mind too much

I read online that you can clip some lettuce to the side of the tank and they will swarm onto it and then you remove and chuck!

I used to buy them for my tank. They gobble up any slime etc on the glass too.

Yes you can do that, they are more active at night so get up early whilst it's dark to catch as many as you can
