PostSubject: Jess fell on a walk.   Sun 15 Mar 2015, 4:35 pm

My sis inlaw came over. She'd had a flat battery... needed to drive... so she drove for 45mins to come here... Doggie play was a bonus...Blah, blah, blah.

Anyway, we all went for a walk, she had her 2 poodles, Con had Tyson, I had jess. It had gotten dark but, no matter. Everyone happily strolling down the street.

Jess & I were last, she couldnt keep up with everyone so we just ambled along following them. 1/2 way through our walk, Jess tripped, fell over & just laid there. She did not even attempt to get up!

I called out to con. I took Tyson as he lifted her from the ground & we made a beeline for home.

She seems ok, but she won't move from her bed for now. crying

I think she has sprained her left front joint. She is limping this morning & barking half heartedly from her bed at any movement in the house & Tyson is kissing her every second. He knows she isn't herself.

Do you have any anti inflammatories in? I always have metacam on standby (not sure if you have that in Aus?)

I haven't got any.
she is walking, just tenderly. It'll be another vet trip if she's not better in a day or so. I really think she's pulled the joint muscles when she fell.

Shes doing really well, thank you ladies. ta

She struggled on our morn walk, early morn, stiffness, we only did 10 mins, she was exhausted, literally dragging the chain. We just went back home. This morn was just too much for her, or should I say too soon for her. But she did great on the arvo walk, she made near 30 mins! Even if at 1/2 pace.

 threadhijacked

You know I always meet the nicest of people on our walks. Con always says, yeah, yeah, sure you do...(well i do, often.) but today he finally saw it for himself. Tease

I normally walk them as Con's at work but today he was off so..... we both took them for a short walk not to overdo jess as it was our normal walkies time & she was so excited I couldn't go without her.

We met a man named "gary" in the street. he had with him a newly rescued/adopted brindle staffy named zara of 2yrs. 1/2 tysons size! She was just tiny & gorgeous! We all stopped, said hello, can they meet? Yeah!...I'm tracy, this is con, hi gary nice to meet you, who's this little one! (Background history, bless her.)... Ohhhh... that's jess! She won't hurt her... he's tyson... We had a chat for ages & alot of play & heaps of bum sniffs. The dogs, not me. Though he (gary was young &cute, I dont think con would have been happy if I'd. ?..) lol Twas very social. A beautiful meeting for all puppies.

I looked to my left to see a man sitting in his front yard.... "hi" he said. What lovely dogs.. thank you...........ok.... you have a snake out for a walk?  (Yes, it was alitte unusual to find a man & his snake playing in the front yard! omg ) Yes, he said, this is Missy! About 1.5mtr. Wow! She was gorgeous! An olive python of 2 yrs. She will be enormous. ...4 mtrs when grown. I had to have  a pat! Loads of Love  He was worried the dogs would harm her, & rightfully so! We all kept the dogs away as I played with her. Just gorgeous,  she was beautiful. So sleek, muscular, strong.

I gave jess to con to hold while he spoke to "gary"& zara. Missy had just shed a few days ago. What beautiful colours she had. Loads of Love  I know many dont like snakes but I actually admire their beauty & grace. She was beautiful, gentle, yet very strong & heavy for just two yrs. Her owner was Adam, about 10 houses up from me. It seems I am welcome to hold her anytime. She was beautiful!

We got home, said goodbye to gary & zara, & jess is so happy & back to herself. Still alittle stiff but, she's going to be just fine.

Thank you all for listening to me stress over my girl.
