Hi

Does anyone know if you can have two vets ? , im with vets for pets who are brilliant and i paid a one off fee for his vacciantions which means he's now vacced for life , but the two downside too vets 4 pets i find is there extortionate prices should you need to see a vet , but the since having wiley altho i find them expensive its never been worth claiming on my insurance as its always been about a 100 pound each visit , then if you need out of hours theres no out of hours local we would have to get wiley to preston as thats the out of hours vets 4 pets for us , which is about an hour away which IMHO is redicualas , anyway alot of dog walker's i meet and two of jasons work mates have recommeded a vets in blackpool that are really cheap and the vet is very very good , so ive registered him this morning as he's goin bald round one eye and he's in tomoorow night at 6pm , another good thing with this vet is he's open till 7pm every week night , now she asked if he was registered elsewhere so obviously i said yet , and she said where as we need to tranfer his record's , so does this mean i will lose my vac's for life does anyone know ?

I wouldn't know if I'm honest, however personally I'd stick with one to mainly have the continued knowledge and familiarity

I looked int this when I moved the cat to another vets and they want details of the previous vets to transfer the records. I assume it works the same way as when you move to a new doctors.

I contemplated moving Belle and Reuben to the same vets as the cat as they do not charge for consults and are much cheaper than my existing vets but it's not easy to get to in rush hour, plus they don't open Saturday's and close at 6.30pm whereas my existing vet opens seven days a week and during the week it is until 7.30pm

I go to the same vets practice but there are 3 vets there I'll see. They tend to rotate some vets around the other local practises so I make sure I only get one of the 3 vets I trust. Plus between them the kind of specialise in different areas so if they aren't sure they will double check with one another, it's like 3 vets in one!

I'd have no problem seeing a different vet for a specific problem if I felt they had better knowledge, but being able to answer all of your dogs medical history questions they might ask is important and will save much time & cost! So if your pooch has an extensive medical history on record at one vets just bear this in mind!
