PostSubject: Cancer   Thu 25 Feb 2016, 10:09 pm

Has anyone had an dog or cat that has suffered from cancer

Boris has bone and liver cancer and is quite old but over the last few weeks he has been losing weight. He's still eating but he's also still disappearing for a couple of days at a time and I don't know if he is eating when he's away?

I'm going to take him back to the vets, hopefully this weekend if I can get him in just for a check up and to be weighed.

I'm not sure if weight loss is to be expected with the cancer?

I could not get Boris into the vets last weekend so he was booked in for this Sunday. However he has been missing since Sunday and I am very worried.
Despite having his leg off he was always out and about and sometimes would not be back for two days. I have no idea where he goes but he always comes home

This time though I have a feeling he may have passed away somewhere. I've spoken to the vets and they have not had any reports and they would scan for a chip if he was brought in. I've also posted on a couple of local Facebook pages in the hope someone may have seen him locally

Sorry to hear Boris is still missing Jo x

My Samson had cancerous tumour on his spine but it was only detected the day he was put to sleep as he couldn't lift his head .

Ollie had Pancreatitis before he passed, as you know he was initially hospitalised at the vets but it came back within days, vet did say the day he was put too sleep that that could also be a tumour .

Poppy had a tumour behind her eye hence one eye removal and had many suspicious lumps removed since but vet has never felt that Chemo / Radio treatment was necessary

Probably no help to you though, sorry!  Xx

I know he's poorly but Don't give up hope Hun . Just hope he's not in any pain wherever he is . Have you asked locally for people to check their sheds / garages etc? I assume he is microchipped should anything have happened and taken to vet by someone? xx

No sighting, he's posted on FB, local sale sites, RSPCA, both vets. I'm printing off some leaflets tomorrow and will post through doors locally. I've asked me neighbours but no one has seen him
My local shop refuses to put posters etc up which is a pain as that's how I found my last cat

Wow? The local shop refused to let you put up a sign! Jeepers! Our local bottle shop is the 1st place everyone goes if they have lost or found a pet. Its our local bulletin board. I hope you find him. Xxx

I've done my leaflets so I'm going to ask anyway, I'm sure if I pay they will put it up.

I spoke to my next door neighbours tonight as they have been away this weekend and they have advised that one of their cats has also been missing for a few weeks too.

You are not allowed to tape to poles butive managed to get the shop to put one up for me. I'm going to attach one to the school gates too.

He is chipped so if he turns up at the vets I will be notified but if he is picked up as an RTA the council do not scan but so far they have not had any reports
