PostSubject: Bubbas chip   Tue 19 Apr 2016, 5:37 pm

I have taken Bubba to the vets tonight to get him chipped but it turns out he is already chipped.
He was handed in at the shelter due to issues with neighbours and when handed in they advised he was not chipped so the shelter never checked. I'm panicking now that maybe one of the neighbours pinched him and handed him in, he was brought some way which I found unusual but given that shelters are bursting I didn't give it much thought.
I've tried to ring the chip company but they closed at 5pm so will have to ring them in the morning. I truly hope he has not been reported as missing

Chip company weren't much help, they said if he was listed as missing they could not tell me. They would only confirm his name and that he was registered in Manchester.
They also said it would be best for the shelter to transfer the chip over so I've been back to see them tonight. It could take about six weeks for his details transferred as they have a lot on with all the compulsory chipping and I don't want to let him out until he's registered at my address

Nope, they should always check in my opinion , regardless of what the owners say. If I had known three weeks ago I could have sorted it out when I adopted him and hopefully the paperwork would then be back in the next couple of weeks
