PostSubject: Bit miffed!   Tue 30 Nov 2010, 8:56 am

As you may know, Diva has come from a lady who fosters cats and kittens then rehomes them.

I therefore assumed that Diva would have been looked after a little better than she had. As the lady left last night she said that Diva may have a few fleas as the mum has been going outside and may have brought some in!! I did think, why the hell have they not all been flea treated?

I checked her and couldn't see any but gave her a fast working flea tablet anyway, and she was such a good girl at taking it. I also decided to give her a drontal worming tablet from the pack I had for Candy.

Well 15 mins after the flea tablet, dozens of dead and dying fleas where falling off Diva! Poor little girl was covered in them. Then this morning she went poo in the litter tray and passed a huge pile of very long worms!! Again, poor baby, her belly must has been so uncomfortable.

It just makes me laugh that certain places think that I am not suitable to foster cats and dogs, yet I have just cleared this kitten of a worm and flea infestation within 12 hours of having her!

Sorry. Needed to get that off my chest!

aww what a shame, poor little diva

At least you were prepared,
It does seem unfair when you would take much better care than that

That's not good.

All my cats are from rescues and never had one with fleas or worms oh no

Did have one arrive with cat flu though once - nightmare we had 3 fully vaccinated cats already and they all went down with it - total nightmare!!

I don't think she is a propper rescue lady but tbh I am just glad she let us have Diva as Battersea and cats protection wouldn't let me adopt a cat!

I agree, Diva has never been wormed or flea treated in her life. Reminded me of Cody, he was the same, a belly full of worms.

She is doing great today though, eating and drinking well and getting on better with Candy. Just gonna post more pics.

hmm i dont call flea ridden and riddled with worms taken care of thats neglect in fact rspca have taken animals off people for that
thats the basic requirements for cats and yup the bunnies will be riddled to now which is not good as is as detrimental to bunnies as it is cats and dogs

I just sent her an email to let her know how the kitten is and told her about the worms and fleas and advised her to treat all the animals in the house!

Awwwww that is such a shame Louise - have you wormed her too just in case -

The good thing is Diva is now in your loving home and will receive the best care ever - hugs xx
